BRIDAL LOOK
THE CORSET IN THE CONTEMPORARY BRIDAL WORLD — PUGLIA EDITION
JANUARY 27, 2026
In recent years, the corset has made a powerful return to the bridal world, shedding outdated ideas of restriction and becoming a symbol of structure, intention, and quiet strength. Today, the corset is not about reshaping the body, but about revealing presence — a conscious choice made by brides who value identity, elegance, and meaning.
This shift was recently explored in a Vogue Italia editorial (link) dedicated to the role of the corset in contemporary bridal fashion. The editorial features my photography, with two published images that visually shape the story and reflect my editorial approach to bridal imagery. The editorial project was developed in collaboration with Lori Campana Events, whose refined planning and creative direction played a key role in defining the atmosphere and coherence of the story Being published by Vogue Italia is not incidental: it is a recognition of a photographic vision rooted in fashion culture, intimacy, and restraint — the same vision I bring to destination weddings and intimate celebrations in Puglia. The corseted bridal look featured in the article was designed by Alice Pons, whose work plays a key role in redefining the corset through a refined, historically informed, and deeply contemporary lens.
A NEW BRIDAL LANGUAGE
In modern weddings — especially intimate weddings and destination celebrations — the corset has become a central element of the bridal look. It speaks a language closer to couture than tradition, to identity rather than performance. Worn as a visible bodice or integrated into minimalist gowns, the corset brings balance, posture, and clarity to the silhouette, without excess.
This is why it resonates so strongly with couples choosing a destination wedding in Puglia. The region’s historic masserie, sun-washed stone architecture, and natural light call for bridal looks that are refined yet effortless. A corseted bridal look, when thoughtfully designed, feels perfectly at home in these settings: strong, timeless, and deeply personal.
CORSETS AND INTIMATE WEDDINGS IN PUGLIA
Many of the couples I work with choose Puglia for its authenticity — its slowness, landscapes, and sense of truth. The corset fits naturally into this vision. It allows brides to move freely while maintaining structure, making it ideal for elopements, small weddings, and refined destination celebrations.
Rather than traditional volume or decorative overload, corseted looks pair beautifully with flowing skirts, tailored trousers, or soft layers. They photograph exceptionally well in natural light, enhancing posture and presence without overpowering the person wearing them.
ALICE PONS AND THE MODERN CORSET
The bridal corset featured in Vogue Italia was designed by Alice Pons, a designer known for her meticulous approach to historical construction and her ability to translate it into wearable, modern pieces. Her work is rooted in research, craftsmanship, and proportion — creating corsets that feel intentional rather than decorative.
Alice Pons’ designs align naturally with intimate weddings and destination celebrations, where the dress is not meant to perform, but to support the bride’s presence. Her corsets enhance posture and silhouette while remaining soft, elegant, and deeply personal — a perfect match for contemporary bridal aesthetics in Puglia.
PHOTOGRAPHY AS INTERPRETATION
As a wedding photographer in Puglia, my approach is rooted in storytelling rather than staging. When photographing corseted bridal looks, I focus on the relationship between body, garment, and environment. Light, movement, and texture become part of the narrative.
The two images published by Vogue Italia reflect this philosophy. They are not about showcasing a dress, but about capturing a feeling — a calm, quiet strength that mirrors how many modern couples choose to marry today.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Being featured in Vogue Italia is meaningful not only professionally, but because it confirms a shared vision of contemporary bridal aesthetics: authentic, restrained, and emotionally grounded.
For couples planning a destination wedding in Puglia, this approach results in imagery that feels editorial yet honest, refined yet human — whether your celebration takes place in a countryside masseria, along the Adriatic coast, or in a historic village.
If you are planning an intimate wedding or elopement in Puglia and are drawn to editorial wedding photography with an emotional, natural approach, I would love to tell your story.
